Medical needs
We provide assistance to passengers with reduced mobility or special needs. In order to give our passengers the best possible help, and in accordance with EC regulation 1107/2006, we need information regarding your need for assistance at the latest 48 hours before departure, so we can inform the responsible Managing Body at the airport(s) about the assistance needed.
Passengers with reduced mobility and wheelchair assistance
You are allowed to bring both a collapsible and a power driven wheelchair as baggage free of charge. When you inform the Blue1 Sales Center about the wheelchair, it is important to include the measurements and weight of the equipment. This is to ensure that it will fit into the aircraft compartments. You can also register wheelchair by using this form.
If you have difficulty getting to or from the aircraft and need assistance, this will be provided by the local airport authority, or a company selected by them. They will be happy to provide you with a wheelchair and assistance from check-in to arrival. Below are some guidelines as to what you can expect from us.
- You should arrive at the airport approximately 2 hours before scheduled departure, if you require assistance from the parking area. You must be checked in no later than 1 hour before departure.
- Please note that a wheelchair powered by a spillable battery may not be transported on Blue1 aircraft. If you have difficulty getting to or from the aircraft, we are happy to assist you.

Onboard
In the interests of safety, crew members are not authorized to lift passengers between cabin seat and wheelchair and can not be of assistance e.g during a visit to the lavatory.
For all other medical needs, like lie flat transportation (stretcher), etc., the Medical Department needs to be consulted. In most cases, a medical certificate (MEDIF) and accompanying passenger(s) plus a doctor or nurse will be required.
